Meet Kate

Kate McHugh, Founder of the Cape Cod Center for Well-Being, LLC.

Kate Profile Picture Kate McHugh, E-RYT500, C-IATY, has a multi-decade enduring passion for yoga and fitness and a 30(+) year career helping those suffering with addiction and trauma on a path towards well-being.

Kate became a physical fitness instructor in 1980, incorporating yoga in the late 80s with clients, and then helped to obtain a Massachusetts DPH (Department of Public Health) license for MSPCC (Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children) bringing wellness-based, integrated approaches for addiction and trauma to the children & families of Cape Cod.

In addition, Kate received Massachusetts physical education and adjustment counselor (social worker) licenses,  offering therapeutic classes and workshops throughout the 90’s. She’s a Massachusetts and Delaware licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), an advanced 500-hour registered teacher for Yoga Alliance, and a certified Yoga Therapist through I-AYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists). Kate continues to provide trainings and continuing education workshops for both Yoga Alliance and I-AYT, and her signature program is her Yoga for Healthy Aging training.

Kate’s therapeutic groups, workshops and advanced 300-hour Vital Heart Yoga and IAYT teacher trainings integrate Yoga and its sister science Ayurveda to help people find a sense of well-being. Kate has been using yoga as a therapeutic tool for decades, and recently left McLean Hospital as their Fitness Manager, where she offered therapeutic yoga and fitness programs for almost nine years in all the Divisions of the Hospital.
